“I Like to Move in the Night” – Eagles of Death Metal – “Death by Sexy” (2006)

New goal? Invent “diet fried chicken.” If people have gotten rich building operating systems and douchey high rises, “fried chicken lite” is source of infinite income. It’s got world’s first trillionaire written all of it.

“Behind The Ritual” – Van Morrison – “Keep It Simple” (2008)

My wife commented last night about how much I have pared down my per post word count. I hadn’t even thought about it but it is probably some unintended byproduct of my new meta-goal of keeping it concise. Not always or forever.

I’m making up for it over the last couple days with long, meandering songs.

“Do You Feel Like We Do” – Peter Frampton – “Frampton Comes Alive” (1973)

Okay, how about a run of guitar hero posts? I got two deep into the soundtracks, let’s see if this theme lasts longer?

Didn’t know what to post tonight until I saw my friend Monique, FB, that Frampton is “the ish.”

That ish after the bridge is the holy ish balls shizzle. Love this song so much!

“Stay A Little Longer” – Brothers Osborne – “Brothers Osborne” (2015)

I failed at running the “Soundtrack” theme to three days but I can’t think of a better reason to end it than to post these guys.

Looking for a new guitar hero? If yes, John Osborne is worth a listen. Try each one: the unplugged is a finger pickin’ good time and I have to admit I’ve watched it 50ish times, and the electric is full blown rock star caliber.

Don’t even try to tell me you don’t like country, if you like a good solo, preceded by three minutes of brotherly harmonizing, you should love this.

I am trying to think of a possible scenario where these guys aren’t a huge, headlining act within a couple years.

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

So happy? So sad! So quirky; Angst. Awkward but entertaining (when is awkward not entertaining). So happy! So sad?

This!

I wish I had more time to talk about this song, ’cause I really love it, but I don’t so I won’t but you should listen to it and find a way to incorporate more Andrew Bird into your life.

I’m still trying to pinpoint Rick Santorum’s walk-up music for his next happy hour, or possibly D League, debate.

It keeps me up at night. It really does.

“The Rubberband Man” makes my list of Top Ten favorite songs of my preteen years. What else makes the list? Probably a Jim Croce song or two, got to have me some Partridge Family jams, or course… “Disco Duck.” Classics, they should almost be called classical music their so classic.

“Speed Trap Town” – Jason Isbell – “Something More Than Free” (2015)

This goes in the pile I am amassing for Album of the Year Consideration! Isbell’s themes steer towards things that are: on the verge, just out of reach, inevitable, and maybe unavoidable. There’s no belly aching though but a whole lot of richly textured romanticizing of the process.
