What I really feel like doing is just posting “No Surprises” since I have that song as part of my “Running” playlist and it just helped me survive a very chilly jog around the ‘hood. Should Radiohead even be included on a playlist that accompanies a person out for a run? Probably not. (Note to self: substitute Ministry for Radiohead on Running soundtrack.)

But anyways, now I can’t get “No Surprises” out of my head. It’s okay I guess, there have been worse things stuck in my 7 3/4 noggin. I posted “No Surprises” about 9 months ago. I’ve always known that the day would come when I would repeat a song. In fact, I’ve had the first repeat song kind of picked out for a long time now. It was a song that I played really early in the life of this blog. Over the last 15 months or so, I’ve been amazed that the song and band haven’t gotten more recognition, so I want to let revive it on this tiny little blog in hopes that more people will give it a listen. But, I’ll save that for another day.

What really caught my ear today was the new Decemberists’ song that I heard on KEXP while walking home from work. It’s a good one, and I was walking along thinking “it’s got a nice little R.E.M. feel to it.” The song finishes and right on cue Kevin Cole says that the song has a R.E.M. feel to it, and that Peter Buck plays on this song. Give it a listen if you haven’t already.

Have a great weekend, and if someone starts to ask you “how many shopping days ’til Christmas” just start humming “No Surprises” as loud as you can.
